Senior Volunteer Connection

 The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program's(RSVP) mission is to utilize the vast talents of older individuals willing to share their experience, abilities, and skills in responding to a wide variety of community needs.

 Requirements for becoming RSVP Volunteer:

•  Be 55 or older
• Willing to serve a few hours each week
• Lives in or near a county served by RSVP

Benefits of becoming a RSVP Volunteer

• Help others and have a good time doing it
• Learn new skills
• Meet new people
• Learn about your community
• Enjoy an annual appreciation banquet
• Travel reimbursement and insurance

Some examples of what RSVP volunteers do are:

• Tutor and mentor chidlren and teens
• Tutor in adult literacy
• Provide home delivered meals to the homebound
• Provide daily supportive calls to the disabled and homebound
• Support Troops overseas
• Provide support and companionship to nursing home residents
• Work in soup kitchens and banks
• Volunteer at hospices
